An Ecosystem of Care
California Holistic Referral Network + Listserv
A Curated Space for Referral, Collaboration, and Whole-Person Care
This space exists because the way people actually seek support does not live in one lane.
People move between therapy, psychiatry, body-based work, spiritual guidance, community care, and spaces that don’t always fit into clinical language. That is real. That is already happening.
This network is built to reflect that reality, while still holding structure, integrity, and accountability.
The goal is not just to find a provider.
It is to connect people to support that actually makes sense for their lives.
-
This is a curated referral and collaboration network.
It is not a large (yet), open listserv, and it is not an unmoderated space.
Posts and participation are guided by intention, alignment, and the overall integrity of the network.
This space is designed to remain usable, clear, and grounded. That means:
• not everything will be approved or accepted
• responses may not be immediate
• time-sensitive needs are not guaranteed to be met in real timeThis is not about volume or speed.
It is about thoughtful connection and aligned referral. If you are here, you are part of maintaining that.
This space is maintained by one therapist alongside full-time clinical work and other commitments.
-
This is a referral and collaboration network for clinicians and practitioners who understand that care is layered.
You may be:
• a therapist, social worker, or associate
• a psychiatrist or prescribing provider
• a psychologist or assessment specialist
• a community-based clinician or clinic
• a somatic or body-based practitioner
• an acupuncturist or integrative provider
• practitioners who are part of the broader systems people already move through, including body-based, spiritual, energy-work, and community-rooted careAll of these exist in the ecosystems people already move through.
This space does not separate them.
It brings them into conversation, with intention. -
This is not a free-for-all.
There is a difference between acknowledging the full spectrum of care and losing structure.
This space is grounded in:
• discernment over volume
• alignment over availability
• care over visibility
• real understanding over surface-level interventionThis is a space for people who think about the work, not just do it.
-
Values
This space is grounded in care that is anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and rooted in a commitment to do no harm.
That means acknowledging the realities people are navigating, including systemic harm, marginalization, and the ways those experiences show up in mental health, relationships, and access to care.
This is a space that values:
• cultural awareness and humility
• trauma-informed and relational approaches
• accountability in how we show up and practice
• respect for the full humanity of the people we serveThis is not a neutral or apolitical space.
It is a space that prioritizes integrity, awareness, and real care. Please be intentional. -
Everyone here is responsible for how they show up. This includes how you represent yourself, how you engage, and how you practice.
Expectations for Clinicians and Licensed Providers
If you are a licensed or pre-licensed clinician, you are expected to:
• practice within your scope and follow all governing board regulations
• be accurate and transparent about your credentials and services
• engage in ways that reflect professional and ethical standardsThis space does not replace clinical responsibility.
It exists alongside it.Expectations for All Practitioners
If you are a non-clinical practitioner, you are expected to engage ethically, clearly, and within your scope.
Regardless of discipline:
• engage with care and intention
• respect the complexity of the people being supported
• avoid assumptions, rigid interpretations, or unnecessary policing
• prioritize alignment over availability when offering referralsIf something is unclear, ask before interpreting.
-
This is a referral-first network.
The focus here is connection, not promotion. Most posts should be centered around a specific need, not general visibility.
If you’re unsure what that means, here’s a simple way to think about it:
Most posts should be structured around a need.
Examples:
• ISO therapist for trauma and ADHD
• ISO psychiatrist who takes insurance
• ISO acupuncturist for chronic pain
• ISO group support for griefResponses should be directly connected to that need:
• “I’d be a fit, I work with X and have availability”
• “Here is a group that aligns with what you’re looking for”
• “I recommend this provider, they specialize in this”These responses are useful because they are specific, contextual, and centered around the person being supported.
What Does Not Belong Here
This space is not for general self-promotion or mass visibility.
Examples:
• “Hi, here’s everything I offer”
• “Check out my classes this week”
• “I have openings, reach out”This kind of posting creates noise and makes the space harder to use.
-
People are often navigating multiple systems at once.
They may be:
• in therapy and also working with spiritual practitioners
• seeing a psychiatrist and needing somatic support
• connected to community care but lacking clinical resources
• trying to make sense of their experiences across multiple frameworksThis space exists to support that reality, without dismissing it or overcomplicating it.
Instead of ignoring that, this space is built to hold it.
To make it easier for providers to connect clients to support that reflects the full picture of their lives.
-
Most engagement should be in response to a specific need, not general promotion.
At the same time, it is important to know who is in the network and how people work.
To support that, there will be designated opportunities to introduce yourself, share your work, or name your offerings in a contained way.
Outside of those spaces, posts should remain focused on referrals, resources, and direct support.
If you have a group, service, or offering that directly meets a request, it is appropriate to share it in response to that need.
The intention here is to keep the space usable, clear, and aligned, while still allowing people to be visible in ways that make connection possible.
Where Visibility Lives
There will be a designated monthly thread for introductions and sharing your work.
That is where you can:
• introduce yourself
• share your specialties
• name your offerings
• give people a sense of how you workOutside of that thread, posts should remain referral-based.
-
Confidentiality in Practice
Posts should not include identifying or traceable information about a person.
At the same time, context matters. The goal is not to remove detail, but to share only what is clinically relevant for finding the right support.
Examples of appropriate posts:
✔ “ISO therapist for a young adult navigating trauma and ADHD”
✔ “ISO psychiatrist experienced with bipolar II and medication management”
✔ “ISO couples therapist familiar with infidelity and high-conflict dynamics”
✔ “ISO support for a middle-aged individual navigating grief and substance use”Examples to avoid:
✖ Including names, exact locations, workplaces, or specific identifying details
✖ Sharing highly specific personal events in a way that could make someone identifiable
✖ Posting information that reads like a case summary rather than a referral requestThe goal is to balance clarity with discretion.
If more context is needed, that can be shared privately.
-
If your response is directly relevant to the request, you can reply within the space.
If the response is better suited for a private conversation, reach out directly instead of replying to the full group.
This helps keep the space clear and focused.
